Lucille Coale was born 26 Jan 1910 in Angiola, Tulare County, California to Ellis Pusey Coale and Griselda "Grace" Loanza Rowley. She went by the name "Cindy" with friends and family.

Growing up in Tulare County, "Cindy" lived both in Angiola and Alpaugh. Her siblings included Edna Mae (b. 1895), Herbert Ellis (b. 1897), Charlotte Irene (b. 1898), Elizabeth Luella (b. 1907) and Dorothy Griselda (b. 1919).

Cindy enrolled and completed her Diploma Nursing program at Seaside Hospital in Long Beach, California.

In approximately 1933, Cindy married Glenn Fuller Rowley. She and Glenn had four sons: James Ellis, Don Frederick, Richard Glenn, and Eugene Arthur.

Glenn served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Illinois. Cindy was living near Pearl Harbor with her two eldest sons, Don (age 2) and Jim (age 5) when the attack on Pearl Harbor commenced on December 7, 1941. Glenn escaped injury because the USS Illinois was out on maneuvers during the attack.

Cindy and the children would return to the Mainland United States aboard ship the "Aquitania" landing at San Pedro, California in April 1942.

Following Glenn's retirement from the Navy in 1948, the Rowleys owned a family farm in Napa Valley for ten years; however, Cindy missed her family who were now largely located in the Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo County, California area.

Upon Glen's retirement from the Lucia Mar School District maintenance in 1971, Glenn and Cindy went RVing full-time for two years. They saw a large part of the country and visited many relatives not seen for many years.

Cindy passed away on 21 Jan 1993 in San Luis Obispo County, California. Glenn missed Cindy, his wife of 59 years greatly, and when his children would ask why he didn't keep company with any of the women in his neighborhood, Glenn would quietly say that his Cindy was the only woman for him.

Glenn passed away on 20 April 2004 in Grover Beach, San Luis Obispo County, California.
