Death Strikes Family Twice
27 Apr 1943

Death struck twice at the J. E. Garrey home at 1215 Silver Lead avenue early this morning, with both mother and daughter dying within 70 minutes.
The daughter Mrs. Rosemary A. Butler, 28, died at 5:25 a.m. of a heart aliment after a long illness; and the mother, Mrs. J. E. Garrey, 47, dropped dead of a heart attack at 6:35 a.m.
The mother, grieving, had earlier helped the undertaker move the body of the daughter from the home.
Surviving are the husband and father, three daughters and sisters, include June Garrey of Rapid City; and a son and brother Sgt. Art Garrey, El Paso, Texas.
Also surviving the daughter is her husband Guy Butler, Camp Pickett, Va., while the mother is also survived by 12 brothers and sisters.
