LEWIS C. STEWART

Lewis C. Stewart, 81, husband of Edith Moore Stewart of 17 Crestmore Drive, died Sunday, March 17, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James A. and Florence Matilda Canup Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a retired textile worker and security guard. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Moore Stewart of the home; two sons, Jerry M. Stewart of Powdersville and K.W. Moore of Tigerville. Also surving are a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Delores) Appleton of Powdersville; a sister, Lila Mae Stewart Coward of Greenville; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at the Jones-Brashier Funeral Home, Westside Chapel, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, with interment in the Enoree Baptist Church Cemetery in Travelers Rest.

The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 18.

The family will be at the residence, 17 Crestmore Drive.
