The Ferree family is a part of the Coraopolis History. They also have a street named after them, "Ferree Street".
History shows Jacob is the son of Issac Ferree and grandson of Philip Ferree.

* The Jacob Ferree Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution was organized in 1937. Some of the organizing members were direct descendants of Jacob Ferree.
In March 2007, the chapter celebrated a 70th anniversary.
Every Memorial Day, the chapter honors Jacob Ferree with a ceremony at his gravesite, where a wreath is placed.
