He was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish, a retired carpenter and a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ferrell Jarnagin and Bryant Jarnagin, both of Winnfield; five daughters, Mrs. Fannie Shetley, Mrs. Lois Porter, and Mrs. Gail Garrett, all of Winnfield, Mrs. C. V. (Monnie) Collier of Monroe, and Mrs. Mary Johnson of Washington, D. C.; and 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Emmons, Harold Emmons, Lynn Lasyone, Monty "Bucky" Jarnagin, all grandsons; Noah Gilcrease, Jr., and Ben Nugent, nephews.
