Blue Angel- First crash ,1946 – September: Lt (JG). "Robby" Robinson was killed. During a Grumman F8F-1 Bearcat, BuNo 95986, Blue Angels No. 4, at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, when he fails to pull out of a dive during a Cuban Eight manoeuvre - when a wingtip broke off his airplane, sending him into an unrecoverable spin.
