Evander Tate Baker, 72

Evander Tate Baker, 72, of Route 3, Mountain Home, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, at a Calico Rock hospital. He was a retire minister and carpenter, and a resident of the Salesville community, south of Mountain. Home.

Funeral services were held at 10 a . m. Friday at the Norfork Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Wiles, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Norfork Cemetery with the McClure Service in charge of arrangements.

The son of John Thadius Baker and Willie Belle Ethridge Baker, Mr. Baker was born Feb. 21, 1893, at Norfork. He was a lifetime resident of Baxter County and a minister of the Baptist Church. Mr. Baker was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Navy in World War I.

Survivors include two brothers, James R. Baker of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Wallace A. Baker of Santa Paula, Calif., and several nephews.

Pallbearers were Ed Simpson, E. E. Farrier, Gene Fields, Ross Alexander, Austin Payne, and J. B. Clark.
