Born October 01, 1927, in Cressona, PA, to Lloyd and Helen Aungst,he came here 49 years ago from Pottsville, PA. He was the retired owner/operator of the Richard Aungst Garage in Crystal River from 1964 to 2003. He was a U.S. Navy C.B.'s veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion Post 155 and the V.F.W. Post 8189 Crystal River. He was a Catholic and a member of the St. Benedict's Catholic Church of Crystal River, FL.
He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Aungst, January 03, 2006; and a Grandson, Greg J. Psaledakis, February 04, 1994; and a Granddaughter, Deanna Aungst, December 14, 1986. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Carmella of Homosassa, FL. 4 Sons Richard V. (Brenda), Robert (Regina), Ronald (Fawn) all of Homosassa, FL, and Randall Aungst (Debra) of Singapore. One daughter Carmella Psaledakis (Gregory) of Homosassa, FL. A daughter-in-law Lauraleen Aungst of Homosassa, FL. 2 brothers and 1 sister. 11 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 21, 2009, at 10:00 p.m. from the St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Crystal River, FL, with Father Michael Suszynski as celebrant. Friends may call on Friday March 20, 2009, from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Crystal River Memorial Park Cemetery in Crystal River with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Post 155 Crystal River, FL.
