She was first married to James Delmar Rodgers, and their children were Ruby Rodgers Reynolds, Dorothy Rodgers Moore, Mickey Rodgers Meece, and James Dalmer Rodgers, Jr.
Her second marriage was to Willie Ernest Bruce and their children were Carroll Bruce Reynolds and Richard E. Bruce.
She was predeceased by her husband Ernest and a daughter, Mickey.

MRS. W.E. BRUCE
Taylors - Mrs. Thelma Coward Bruce, 73, of 102 Earnshaw Aveune, widow of W.E. Bruce, died Wednesday, August 3, 1988 after an extended illness.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Richard R. and Nancy Batson Coward and lived all her life in Greenville. Mrs. Bruce was a member of Parisview Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruby R. Reynolds and Mrs. Carroll B. Reynolds, both of Taylors, and Mrs. Dorothy R. Moore of Greenville; two sons, James D. Rodgers, Jr. of Greenville and Richard E. Bruce of Taylors; a step-son, William R. (Bill) Bruce of Frederick, MD; a step-sister, Mrs. Cecil Bennett of Greenville; a step-brother, Roy Taylor of Alabama; and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.The one thing you would find at her house was a pot of coffee.David
