George Edward Reedy, age 68, former co-owner of Reedy's Photo Color Processing in Minneapolis and past potentate of the Zuhrah Shrine Temple, died Tuesday at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.

He suffered from scleroderma, a rare disease in which the skin turns hard and rigid. It also affected his internal organs.

Reedy, of Burnsville, was born and raised in Minneapolis. He graduated from Minnehaha Academy and attended Macalester College in St Paul before he joined the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a bombardier and was shot down twice over Germany. The first time he made it out; the second time he was captured. He spent almost a year in a prisoner-of-war camp.

When the war ended, he returned to Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota. He was in the photo processing business for many years, and he and his brother owend Reedy's on West Broadway Avenue. It was sold about two years ago.

Reedy was a member of the Zuhraha Shrine Temple. He was a past president of the Zuhrah Patrol and was potentate of the Shrine in 1978.

He is survived by his wife, Corrine; sons Greg, of Denver, and Brett, of Elko Minnesota; a sister, Marg Knealing, of Bloomington, and one grandson.
