Cora Lee "Corky" Ward, 91, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, April 3, 2009. atFirst Presbyterian Chapel with Dr. Bob Rice officiating. Services are under the direction ofHavenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.Mrs. Ward was born January 16, 1918, in Carney, Oklahoma, to Herman and Amy Kate(Wilcox) Stump. She graduated from Carney High School and then from Hill's Business College.She married Bartlett A. Ward on October 16, 1943, in Oklahoma City. They moved to Normanfrom Oklahoma City in the summer of 1955."Corky" loved to bowl and spend time with her family and friends. She and her husband,Bart were avid OU fans. She was an active member of Norman's First Presbyterian Church for morethan five decades.Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bartlett, grandson, Brooks A.Ward; sisters, Mary Brooks, Amy Stump, Irene Porter; brothers, Rolle Stump, George Stump,Harvey Stump, and Herman (Bud) Stump.
