DEATH SUMMONS MRS. WM. FORBES (1955)

Funeral services will be held this afternoon for Mrs. William Forbes, 65, who died Monday evening at the local hospital after an illness of three weeks.

After being hospitalized at Mankato for more than two weeks, she was brought to the Winnebago hospital last week. Her death was due to a malignancy complicated by a diabetic condition, but she had appeared comparatively well until she entered the hospital July 2. She had not been under a doctor's care until then.

Services are being conducted at the Spencer-Armstrong Funeral home prior to the service in Our Savior's Lutheran church with the Rev. W.A. Lorenz officiating. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery. Casket bearers will be six nephews.

Born March 31, 1890, in Sargent county, North Dakota, she was married June 8, 1920 to William Forbes after the death of her first husband, Oral Grandon to which union two daughters had been born, Gladys and Phyllis. Mr. and Mrs. Forbes made their home in Verona township for many years until moving to Wells to be near a daughter.

Surviving besides her husband are six daughters, Mrs. Gerald Thisius (Wilma) of Wells, Mrs. Orland Fetchenhier (Irma) of Glasford, Illinois, Mrs. Leo Ziegler (Vivian) of Easton, Mrs. Zane Bice (Mildred) of Freeborn, Mrs. Dan Hodge (Phyllis) of Minnesota Lake and Mrs. Glen Sickler (Gladys) of Delavan.

Also surviving are a brother, John Fitz of Courtland, and three sisters, Mrs. Ann Fuller and Mrs. Grace Gilberts of Amboy, and Mrs. Robert Goor of Anoka. There are 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Klemetson and Mrs. Flora Koyl, preceded her in death.
