Minerva Lucille Lewis 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 15, 2009. She was born in Indianapolis on February 7, 1926 to the late Charles E. and Lillian R. (Sauer) Walter. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ for 63 years, a 31 year member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1553, a 20 year Indianapolis Senior Citizen, a past president of Indianapolis Public School #34 PTA, and a 1944 graduate of Tech High School. She was an accomplished ballroom and country western dancer as well as active at the Democratic Polls. Minerva and Earl loved couples roller skate dancing, bowling, and supporting the Indianapolis Colts. A very loving wife and mother, "Minny" was very involved in her children's and grandchildren's activities. She was always present at countless sport games and musical concerts and very proud of their military service. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, Earl M. Lewis. She is also survived by a son, Charles (Eddie) Lewis of Honolulu, HI; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Phyllis Lewis of Indianapolis; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Wendy Lewis of Killeen, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and David Thomen of Stafford, VA; a half-brother, Charles Walter; and a half-sister, Cindy Pohl. Minerva leaves behind to cherish her memory ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
