Mose Bible and his wife Catherine were among the pioneer/settlers in Richland Co Wisconsin. Moses had worked in Tennessee and Indiana as a farmer, blacksmith and miller. In 1850 he was a farmer in Clinton Co Indiana. In 1855 he and his family, along with Catherines parents and other travelers moved overland by wagon to Wisconsin. Here they settled on farms in the town of Westford. Moses Bibles tract was 160 acres, he also obtained 80 acres for his son Rufus. Moses and Catherine were instrumental in organizing many activities and services. Both were members of the United Brethern Church and the first church meeting were held in their home. Moses was a member of the first board of supervisors for Westford Town. One of the early schools was conducted in his tannery.
