Violetta June Hille's journey ended on Jan. 21st at Deaconess Hospital, Spokane, WA. She was born March 29, 1925 to David and Lydia Carolina Dirks in Ritzville, WA. Violetta graduated from Ritzville High School and met the handsome Alvin "Joe" Hille at a dance in Ritzville, where she was courted by him until they married on Sept. 24, 1944. Alvin served in the U.S.Army during WWII from December 1944 to November 1947, while his beautiful bride was home praying for his safe return. Their wonderful dance continued for more than 58 years until Alvin's passing in 2002. Her life was her family and farm near Washtucna where together with her husband they grew wheat and raised five children, retiring in 1990. They enjoyed their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who treasured time spent with them on the farm. Violetta affectionately became known to all as "Granny." Violette was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin a son TJ Dirks and a brother Harley Dirks. Surviving is her daughter Lannette (Chris) Wavada of Cheney; three sons Dennis (Chris) Hille of Washtucna, Alan (Toni) Hillie of Kahlotus and Lon Hille of Washtucna; a sister, Davida Hille of Washtucna; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews and many other cherished family and friends.
