Edith was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from Round Rock High School. She married Wallace Lentz on May 9, 1947 whom she had known from the age of nine.
Over the course of 30 years, Edith proudly represented Avon Cosmetics and Germania Insurance in the Central Texas area. In retirement, she and Wallace enjoyed many trips with the National Evangelism with Sojourners serving Churches of Christ nationwide. She also worked with World Bible School students and assisted with Brentwood Oaks Jail Ministry Bible Studies Program, where her efforts touched the lives of thousands.
In addition to cooking and taking care of her family, she also enjoyed the art of quilting and her casket will be draped with one that she worked on for many years.
Edith is survived by: husband, Wallace Lentz; son, Gordon Lentz and spouse Shelly; son-in-law, Jim Burton; grandchildren: Caren Garcia and spouse Gil, Michael Lentz and spouse Gina, Mindy Denney and spouse Jason and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Paula Burton.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park, Texas. We will honor her life at Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ, 11908 N. Lamar in Austin, Texas Friday, February 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Georgetown, Texas.
