Earl Profitt (1932-2009)
Durward Earl Profitt Jr., 76, of Westwood, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Community Hospice Care Center.
He was born April 13, 1932, in Ashland, Ky., the son of the late Durward Earl Sr. and Eula Gross Profitt. He was the stepson of Chlora Fosson Profitt whose prayers will be forever appreciated.
He retired in 1984 after 32 years of service with Armco Steel Corp. as a crane operator in the hot strip mill. He was a U.S. Army veteran; a member of the United Commercial Travelers and United Steelworkers Local #1865. The family is happy to announce that he accepted the Lord and was baptized.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Lewis Profitt; a son, David Earl and his wife Pamela Lawrence Profitt; two grandchildren, David Lawrence and Lesley-Anne Profitt; a sister, Karen and her husband Don Spradlin.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009 by the Rev. Philip Zimmerman at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Burial will follow in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Thurs
