Clessie Alice Mattis, 81, daughter of the late John R. Gillihan and Nancy A. Porter Gillihan was born Oct. 13, 1920 in Hardy, AR, and died Feb. 21, 2002 in West Plains, MO.
She married Hugh H. Todd 13 Oct 1941 at Lawrence Co., AR.
She married Shelton Lowe 12 May 1944 at Lawrence Co., AR.
Married J. A. Barnett 03 Mar 1955 at Sharp Co., AR.
Married Amos Henry 03 Mar 1958 at Sharp Co., MO.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Thayer Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children, Mary Ann Wolf of Tulsa, OK; Riley Todd Mattis of Ash Flat, AR; and Virginia Gunsolus of Mountain Home, AR; one brother, Eddie Gillihan of Sapulpa, OK; one sister, Effie Reed of Ash Flat, AR; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Leroy, Melvin and John Clay Gilliham; and two sisters, Melba Gillihan and Bessie Hardmon.
Services were Feb. 23, 2002 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Lance Rogers officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., of Thayer, MO.
Pallbearers were Johnny Gunsolus, Sam Wolf, Tom Taylor, Dan Wolf, Stephen Hart, and George Taylor.
