Services for James Jennings, 63, of Metropolis, formerly of Johnson County, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in Rowland Cemetery in Pope County.

Mr. Jennings died at 9:10 p.m. Monday at his home.

A native of Pope County, Mr. Jennings was employed for 18 years as a truck driver for Kotter Ready Mix and later worked as a self-employed timber buyer and sawmill operator.

He attended County Line Baptist Church and was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 318.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Barger Boaz Jennings; three sons, Philip Jennings of Simpson, Mike Jennings of Ozark and Victor Jennings of Tunnel Hill; two stepsons, Bob Boaz of Glendale and Dennis Boaz of Eddyville; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Barger of Harco; one brother, Samuel Joseph Jennings of Grantsburg; four sisters, Augusta Robinson, Jane Galloway and Clora Faye Milton, all of Paducah, and Ella Mae Mizell of Joliet; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Hazel Jennings; three sisters; and one brother. His parents were Walter Avery Jennings and Opal Edith Grimes Jennings.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
