The Tarkington name is a grand name and has had family members that have gone on to accomplish much in the United States. One Son, Burton Tarkington and wife Sarah came to Texas when it was still part of Mexico.They helped settle what is still there and known as Tarkingtons Prairie, Liberty Co TX. Others were in the Senate, Judges and an Author, to mention a few.

87 year 7 mo 29 days is to be written on his stone- Stone located in 3 pieces- restoration of stone along with other stones located will be completed during the cemetery restoration project. Completed restored photo added 10-17-2010
