William Washington Oxford died January 24, 1948, 3:30 am at his home in Adair. He was 90 years, 10 months, and 27 days old. He was born March 28, 1857 at Harrison, Arkansas.
In March 1909 Mr Oxford and family moved to Oklahoma from Barry County, Missouri.
Mr Oxford was preceded in death by his wife Cansady Downs Oxford, his parents Lafayette D Oxford and Parthenia Horton Snider and children Thomas and John Stephen Oxford.
Mr Oxford is survived by five sons, Jim Oxford of Foyil, Earl Oxford of Adair, Arthur Oxford of Colcord, McKinley of Pryor and Sherman of Adair; three daughters, Mrs Mary Myer, of Claremore, Mrs Jane Collier of Adair and Mrs Josie Conatzer of Tulsa;23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; and by two brothers Franny Oxford of Missouri and Sherman Oxford of Arkansas and one sister Ida Weirman of Cassville,Missouri.
Services were conducted by Rev Dee Watkins at the Baptist Church in Adair on January 26, 1948 at 2:00 pm. Interment was in Adair cemetery.
