Dorothy Noble Lombard, 96, formerly of Windsor, died March 5, 2009, in South Burlington.
She was born June 11, 1912, in Windsor, the daughter of Benjamin C. and Ida E. (MacFarlane) Noble.
She graduated in 1930 from Windsor High School and in 1932 from Northampton (Mass.) Commercial College.
Following graduation, she was employed at the former Cone Automatic Machine Tool Co. in Windsor for several years.
She married Robert D. Lombard in Windsor on April 23, 1937.
Mrs. Lombard was a member of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor and the church gleaners. She made crafts and Christmas decorations for the annual church Christmas bazaar. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Windsor.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, knitting, crocheting and baking.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Baker and her husband, Spencer, of South Burlington; a son, Bruce Lombard of Wellsville, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a nephew and two nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1979; a son, Richard in 1999; and two sisters, Rachel Noble in 1980 and Christine Leonard in 2001.
The funeral service with be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor, with the Rev. Ralph Mueckenhein officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be at a later date in Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
