Clara Katherine Seel, 93, of Remsen, died Wednesday (July 9, 1986) at Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. Rev. Lee R. Mentink will officiate. Burial will be in Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Moeller Funeral Home in Remsen.
Mrs. Seel, the former Clara K. Maass, was born Jan. 1, 1893 in Plymouth County to Henry and Marie Lopau Maass and was a lifelong area resident. She married Fred Seel Feb. 14, 1914, south of Remsen. The couple farmed south of Remsen until 1942 when they retired and moved into Remsen. Mr. Seel died in 1982. She had been a resident of Happy Siesta Retirement Home the last three years.
Mrs. Seel was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.
Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
