Following the Civil War, Andrew Jackson Norval changed his name to John William Davis.

He married Emma Jane Brewin 30 May 1885 in Runnels, Ia.

He was a member of the M.E. Church.

Survivors include children Mrs Robert Ennis, Walter, Andrew, Parker, Kenneth 'Hickory", Ted, Mrs Clarence Deaver & 16 grandchildren.
