Funeral Services were held 2:30 P.M., Friday, June 3, 1988 at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Glenn Newman
Glenn Howard Newman, the son of Benjamin and Cressie (Cooper) Newman, was born at York, Nebraska, on September 19, 1913, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 31, 1988, at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 12 days.
His mother died when he was a small boy and he made his home with his aunt and uncle, Ralph and Frances Wright. He attended Aurora High School and graduated with the class of 1932.
In 1936, he was married to Martha Elizabeth Wilson, she died in 1943.
On May 29, 1944, he was united in marriage to Inez Shafer in Kansas.
During World War II, Glenn worked in the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant in Grand Island and after the war he started farming. In 1980 he retired and moved into Aurora.
Glenn was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Aurora, and belonged to the Grand Island Eagles Lodge No. 378.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Eddie.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Inez; one son Dan of Aurora; 2 daughters, Martha Salmon of Aurora and Ina Rae Krautsdorfer of Lawton, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren and one great granddaughter, and other relatives and friends.
