Leroy (Shorty) Watson

Services for Leroy (Shorty) Watson of 4522 Arthur St. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in The Highland Assembly of God, 4001 20th St., Rev. Robert Allen will officiate, assisted by Rev. Russell McDonald and Rev. Jesse Lee Railey. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Stephens Funeral Home.

Watson, 68, died at his home Tuesday. He was a member of the Highland Asembly of God.

Among survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dessie Watson; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Steed, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Joyce Astor, Enterprise, Mrs. Leoda Dearman, Meridian, Mrs. Sara Barrow, Woodlawn, Tenn.; a son, Richard Watson, Los Angeles, Calif; 15 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mable Reed, Russell.

Employes of the Meridian Housing Authority are to be honorary pallbeaers.

The body will be in the church 30 minutes before the funeral hour.
