Mr. Franklin died in Haskell Hospital Thursday at 11 p.m. He had been in ill health and was confined to his home here the past several years.
He was born March 19, 1874, in Freestone County. He came to Rule in 1907. For some 26 years he was manager of the Rule-Jayton Cottonoil mill.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, C. E. of Lubbock, F. E. of Enid, Okla., and Z. G. of Munday; three daughters, Mrs. T. C. Burnes of Waco and Mrs. Fred Hughes, Rule; and five grandchildren.

Children: Clyde Earnest Franklin (1899-1978); Gladys I. Franklin (1904-dec.); Forrest E. "Mancy" Franklin (1907-1977); Novice Valentine Franklin BURNES (1910-1995); Fae Larkin Franklin HUGHES (1915-1998);and Zane Grey Franklin (1917-1978).
