Discharged due to disability on April 25, 1863 at Falmouth, Virginia. Enlisted on December 26, 1863 in the 56th Massachusetts Infantry, Company A. Promoted to Sergeant. Wounded on September 17, 1862 at Antietam, Maryland. Wounded in right leg, amputated on May 24, 1864 at North Anna River, Virginia. Died of wounds received.
