Gene Probasco, a native of Floydada, Texas, was a civic leader, rancher and farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy from Jan. 20, 1945 until June 19, 1946. Probasco graduated from Texas Tech in 1950, and was married in 1951. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and director of the Floyd County Soil Conservation District.

He was preceded in death by a brother and his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Probasco. Survivors include his wife, five children, and two brothers.
