Mrs. Eula Estell Cockerham, 79, of Winnfield, died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday afternoon, January 10, 1987, at Humana Hospital in Winnfield.

She was the mother of W. R. (Bill) Cockerham, a Jena businessman.

She was a member of East Winnfield Baptist Church.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winfield with revs. Kenneth Wall and Fred Keyes, officiating.

Burial followed at Union Cemetery near Joyce.

Survivors in addition to her son from Jena include two daughters, Wauniece Thomas and Laverne Jordan, both of Winnfield and another son, J. I. Cockerham of West Monroe; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The 1910 US census for Franklin Parish, LA showed that she was born in Louisiana. However, the 1930 and 1940 censuses showed Mississippi as her birth state.
