George Beckner Died At Home Of Daughter
George Beckner, 85 years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Flora Moore, of near Charlottesville, Rush county, Tuesday evening at 7:00 o'clock, from cancer, from which he had suffered for some time.
Funeral services will be held at the Wesleyan Methodist church, near Manilla, Thursday morning at 11 o'clock and burial will be made in the church cemetery in charge of Carmony Bros., funeral directors.
Mr. Beckner was born in Rush county and was well known in the northern part of Shelby county, where he had resided for a short time. His wife preceded him in the year 1914 and since that time he had made his home with his children. Besides the daughter at whose home he died, he is survived by two sons, Henry Beckner, of Arlington; Burton Beckner, of Manilla; three daughters, Mrs. Elvira Miller, of Arlington; Mrs. Rhoda Shields, of Hope; Mrs. Lena Adams, Zionsville; 20 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
