Death of Mrs. A. J. Rohr

Mrs. Bertha C. Rohr, wife of A. J. Rohr, died at 5 o'clock last Saturday morning at the family home in Neodesha, Kansas. Cancer was the cause of death and she had been ill for more than two years. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, January 2, at 2 o'clock from the Fawcett and Hamilton Funeral home in Neodesha. The Rev. Edgar Cook, pastor of the first Baptist church, conducted the services and interment was in the Altoona Cemetery. The funeral music was furnished by Mrs. J. E. Cochran and Miss Dorothy Harvey, accompanied by Miss Fern Gentry. Selections used were, "God Will Take Care of You", and "Under His Wing". The pallbearers were; Orville Jaynes, Oliver Jaynes, Carl Morgan, Virgil Peed, Clyde Basey, and Alec Colvert. The services were largely attended. Surviving relatives include the husband, A. J. Rohr, three sons, Carl J., George D., and Robert Lee Rohr, and one daughter, Margaret A. Rohr, her mother, Mrs. Anna Belle McGaugh, of Altoona; two sisters, Mrs. Zola Cook, of Fredonia, and Mrs. Cora lee Taylor of Pretty Prarie, Kansas, and two brothers, Verne McGaugh of Buffalo and Laurice McGaugh of Altoona. Her father preceded her in death. Bertha C. McGaugh was born at Agency Ford, Mo., October 24, 1892, and was 40 years, 2 months, and 7 days old at the time of her death. She came to Kansas when four years old. She was married on Nov. 25, 1911, to A. J. Rohr at Fredonia. The family moved to Neodesha more than three years ago from Altoona. Mrs. Rohr was a member of the Baptist church.
