Samuel Monroe Sissom, son of Calvin and Martha Emaline TODD Sissom.
From Springdale News May 15, 1908: Hindsville, Ark. May 12 – Monroe Sissom, son of C. Sissom, living east of town, was killed in Oklahoma a few days ago. It seems that Monroe and his brother, Tom, were living on the farm of a man in Oklahoma. All three of them were in town and were drinking some. As they started home one of them fired his pistol and an officer attempted to arrest them. They tried to escape and the officer fired on them, shooting Monroe in the body and the Oklahoman in the wrist. The buggy was upset, the occupants thrown out and Tom's leg was broken in two places above the knee. Mrs. Coffey, sister of the Sissom boys, started to Oklahoma this morning to nurse her brother and bring him home later. Monroe was brought here for burial yesterday. It will be remembered that two or three years ago a brother of these boys was killed. His slayer made his escape and has never been arrested.
