Jennie E. White Allen, 75, of Henry died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at her son’s home in Trezevant.

Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bobby Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dekota, Jacob, Jeffrey, Jodi, Brandon, Tyler and Toni Allen and Colin Gaskins. Jonathan Allen is named as an honorary pallbearer. Burial will follow the service in Bethlehem Cemetery in Henry.

She was born June 19, 1941, in Miston to the late J.B. White and the late Lillian Mae Languea. She married Virgil Dewell Allen on May 23, 1959, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2001.

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She formerly worked at Gaines Manufacturing and Brown Shoe Company and retired from Nestaway, all in McKenzie. A family member said she enjoyed gardening and collecting Indian memorabilia.

Survivors also include two sons, Jody (Laura) Allen of Trezevant and Dannie (Cheryl) Allen of Henry; seven grandchildren: Jonathan (Julie), Dekota (Toni), Bradley, Jacob, Jodi and Brandon Allen and Brittany (Patrick) Griffith; four great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Siris and Mackenzie Allen and Frank Jackson; three sisters: Shirley Bailey of Paris, Henrietta Cannon of Ramona, Calif., and Barbara Ann White of Alabama; one brother: J.B. White Jr. of Paris; and four sisters-in-law: Cookie Allen of Paris, Allene Allen of Henry, Mary Ann Melton of Henry and Judy Rodorigo of Cullman, Ala.

Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Tim Allen, who died Feb. 9, 2016.
