Alice Irene Dodd Carter, 92, passed away Tuesday October 31, 2006 in Antlers, Oklahoma. She was born April 8, 1914 to James Percy and Flora (Cappleman) Dodd in Farris, Oklahoma. Alice had been married to Vernon "Doc" Carter for almost 57 years before he passed away in 2004. She was a loving person whom missed Doc after he went on to be with the lord. Alice enjoyed living in Antlers and attending the Westside Baptist Church and serving the Lord and reading her bible and praying. Alice also enjoyed spending time sewing her own clothes, being a homemaker, growing her own flowers and spending time with friends and family. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dee Dodd; sister, Ester Beasley; and most recently her other brother, Jim Dodd, 99, years old of Heavener, Oklahoma. She is survived by her nephew, James Dodd and wife, Juanita, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and many other nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends. Henry, Edna, Bryan and Scott Watson, all of Antlers, were special and helpful to Alice. They all helped her many times. Alice is in a better place now and will be greatly missed. We know she is with Jesus and we all will meet her again some day. This was Alice's favorite scripture: John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Services will be Nov. 3, 2006 at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. James Dodd, Jr. officiating.
