Our Heavenly Father called to a peaceful rest, Steven Calbert Crawley on Monday, June 25, 1973 in South Boston, VA. He was born March 31, 1959 in Newark N.J. to Horace Calbert and Mildred Banks Crawley. At an early age he came to South Boston and made his home with his great-grandmother and father, Ella and Artie Majors. He attended the Washington-Coleman and C.H. Friend public schools of South Boston and this fall would have entered Halifax Junior High School. Steven joined the Ebenezer CME Church at an early age. He was an altar boy and active in the Sunday School. When he didn't attend his church on Sunday he attended the Woodgrave Sunday School and the Cross Roads Baptist Church, his father's church in Turbeville, VA. To cherish his memory, he leaves a father, Horace Crawley, S. Boston; mother, Mildred Banks Crawley, Patterson, NJ.; a sister and brother, Horace Jr. and Tracy Crawley, Lake Charles, LA; one grandmother, Mrs. Waudieur Crawley, two grandfathers, James Banks and Joseph Crawley Jr. ,South Boston; two great-grandmothers, a devoted one - Mrs. Ella Majors and Mrs. Elaine P. Crawley, one great-grandfather, Artie Majors, South Boston; two aunts, Mrs. Eunice Banks Carrington, Patterson, NJ; Mrs. Elaine Crawley Reaves, USAF Academy, CO; four uncles, Jessie and James Banks, Joseph (Danny) and Beckwith Crawley, S. Boston; one uncle-in-law, Capt. C.L. Reaves, USAF Academy, CO; Mrs. Cheryl Crawley, South Boston, seven great aunts, four great uncles-in-laws, ten great-great aunts and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
