Lena was the wife of Frank HAMMER, who for many years was a street car conductor in the City of Chicago. What happened to him after Lena died, I have been unable to ascertain. Frank was a son of Joseph HAMMER and Anna PRITCHARD.

Mrs. Frank Hammer, a former resident of this city, died at her home in Chicago on Saturday afternoon, following an illness with pneumonia. Caroline Beers was born in this city on September 17th, 1866, living here until the time of her marriage. Her husband and two children, Ray and Margaret, and two brothers, Joseph of Cumberland, Wis. and George of this city, a sister, Mrs. John Roedl, also of this city, survive. Three children preceded their mother in death.

The remains were brought to this city on Monday and were taken to the funeral home of McKinstry and Yauman. At nine o'clock on Tuesday morning funeral services were held at St. Peter's church, Rev. Theo. Rohner being in charge. Interment was in St. Peter's cemetery.
