Wife of Rev Thomas M Brinson. Daughter of John Rieff and Hannah (Ross) Rieff.
Polly was the niece of two master builders: one, Henry Rieff, who built the original HERMITAGE for Andrew and Rachel Jackson, and two, Joseph Rieff, who with William C. Hume, re-built the HERMITAGE in 1835 & 1836 for President Jackson after it had burned.
