A funeral Mass for William S. Graybeal, 83, of Logansport and Beaufort, S.C., will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in All Saints Catholic Church.
He died at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2006, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, S.C.

Born June 21, 1922, in Oxford, Pa., he was the son of Arthur Garfield and Nancy McCoy Graybeal. He was married in May 1946, to Josephine Mittica, who preceded in death July 3, 1986. In October 1988, he was married to Mildred Sutton, who survives.

Bill graduated from Riverview High School in Ashe County, North Carolina, where he grew up. He graduated from Lees McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C. A veteran of World War II, he entered the U.S. Navy in October 1944, and served a year in Guam.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 in Logansport.
Bill owned and operated The Gray Mill Company from 1952 until 1988. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Logansport. He attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Lady’s Island Country Club, both in Beaufort, where he lived part-time for 17 years.

Also surviving are one sister, Mary Kathryn Rice and her husband, Dr. Bill Rice, North Carolina; a half brother, Eugene Graybeal, North Carolina; half sisters, Edna Milam, Michigan, and Pearl Graybeal, Pennsylvania; children, Linda Graybeal Moore and her husband, Larry, Moline, Ill., William J. Graybeal and his wife, Jackie, and Michael Graybeal and his wife, Ginny, all of Logansport; stepchildren, Zenobia Sutton, Austin, Texas, and Tammy Ulery, Logansport; seven grandchildren, William C. Graybeal and his wife, Michelle, Virginia Beach, Va., Timothy Graybeal and Katelyn Graybeal, both of Indianapolis, James Moore, St. Louis, Mo., Maria Moore Welch and her husband, Robert, Davenport, Iowa, Elizabeth Moore, St. Emilion, France, Mollie Graybeal, Lafayette, and Joseph Graybeal, Logansport; stepgrandchildren, Jacob Sutton and Danyel Ulery, Logansport; and great-grandchildren, Zoey Graybeal and William Kye Graybeal, Virginia Beach, Va.
Two half sisters preceded in death.

Father Christopher Weldon will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kroeger Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church.
