Mrs. Catherine Anna Dute Eschtruth, 57, a lifelong resident of Amherst, died at her home early today after a three-weeks illness with a complication of diseases. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the home of Rev. Harding, officiating.
Mrs. Eschtruth was born April 24, 1854, in Amherst, and lived there all of her life. She was the daughter of Casper Dute, one of the first settlers of Amherst. April 14th, 1873, she married Ferdinand Eschtruth. He died a year ago.
Mrs. Eschtruth leaves a daughter Mrs. H. P. Parsons, and seven brothers and four sisters. They are George, Antone of Dute and Bickel, Lorain merchants, August, Casper and Henry of Amherst, and Jacob and Harve of Wellington, Mrs. Fred Lau, of Weeping Water, Neb., Mrs. A. H. Kern of Detroit, Mrs. John Krugman of Elyria, and Mrs. Mason Miller of Wellington.
Mrs. Eschtruth was a charter member of the Lorain lodge of the ladies of the Macabees, and the lodge will attend her funeral in a body.
