John, 46, the son of Ernest W and Alpha Arvilla Adkins Farris, passed away at Seattle Memorial Hospital, on June 24, 1968, his wife by his side. He had suffered a major heart attack.
John enlisted in the US Navy on February 25, 1942, and served his country for over 20 years, including action in WWII. He served in the Pacific Theatre and Korea. After his discharge, he went to work for the City of Seattle.
Surviving him are his wife and step-daughter, Father Ernest W Farris, brother James (Lela) Farris, sister Helen (Fred) Galbraith, and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Clyde Farris, passed away a year earlier.
