Varner Funeral Is Set for Today --- Funeral services were held in Augusta this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock for Mrs. N.D. Varner, who was drowned Friday at Kerrville, Texas, when the boat in which she and her husband were fishing capsized. Interment was in Westover Memorial Park cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Varner, natives of Dalton, moved to Kerrville several years ago from Dalton. She was formerly Miss Mamie Poteet.
Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Miss Elizabeth Varner; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.G. Poteet, of Jackson, S.C.; brothers, J.R. Poteet, of Hendersonville, N.C.; H.M. Poteet, of Dalton, Ga.; G.S., J.W. and P.G. Poteet Jr., of Montezuma; H.W. Poteet of Augusta; L.D. and G.L. Poteet, of Jackson, S.C.; three sisters, Mrs. L.C. Chapman, of Montezuma; Mrs. Ellis Alligood, of Augusta, and Miss Dorothy Poteet, of Jackson, S.C.
