Thomas Corwin Kennedy (Cor) was born in Fayetteville, Ohio in 1847. The Kennedy family moved to Marion County, Iowa, in 1854 when Cor was seven years old. Thomas grew up and spent most of his adult life in Marion. There he married his wife Mary Throckmorton on December 19, 1869. Together they had nine children, seven of whom lived to adulthood. All were daughters except the eldest. The family moved to Pottawattamie County in 1894 to join the oldest son Oliver. T.C. worked in a brickyard and then opened and operated his own drayline. He lived in Council Bluffs until his death in May 1919. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
