Phoebe E. Miller was born near Oto, Iowa, December 21, 1878, and passed away at her home in Oto on April 18, 1930, aged 56 years, 3 months and 23 days.
She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Miller, pioneer residents of Woodbury County. She was united in marriage to Perry Coon in March 1921.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, five sisters, Mrs. Mary Dunham of California, Mrs. Nellie Reynolds of Montana, Mrs. Henrietta Foster of Custer, South Dakota, Mrs. Eva Thompson and Miss Martha Miller of Oto; three brothers, George of South Dakota, John and Nathan Miller of Oto; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
She spent all her life on the home farm until thirteen years ago she moved to Oto where she has since resided. Mrs. Coon was a member of the Rebekah and Pythian Sisters orders, also the Mite Society and W.C.T.U. She was a kind and loving wife, good neighbor and friend and was loved by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Oto Federated church with Rev. William P. Webb in charge. Burial was made in the Oto Cemetery with the Rebekahs and Pythian Sisters having charge of the services at the graveside. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Hudgel Funeral Service of Anthon.
