Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was mustered in as a Private in Company I, 23rd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on September 13. 1862. He served until he was discharged due to disability on Mach 7, 1863 at White Oak Church, Virginia. However, he died three days later.

He is interred under a marker this misspells his last name, and give the incorrect state he served from.

He was a native of Mount Holly, New Jersey.
