In the summer of 1854 Ben and Barbara made a wagon trip to Salt Lake City, and thence to Petaluma, Calif.; Ben was elected "civilian captain" of that wagon train. They removed to Santa Barbara Co. before 1870. Ben's occupation was farmer and land developer. They had no children.
