Silas B. Canfield, the son of Lester M. and Anna (Annie) M. Waye Canfield, was born in North Shade Township, Gratiot County, Michigan, on 21 July 1884.

Silas married Minnie Porterfield Barnes on 24 March 1907 at Ithaca, Gratiot County, Michigan, and he was her second of three husbands.

Silas died in 1914 at the young age of 30 and was buried in the North Star Cemetery, North Star Township, Gratiot County, Michigan. As far as we can determine, he is the only member of his family buried there.

We continue to research Silas as of March 2009.
