Mr. James I. Starling of Samson, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Samson. He was 24. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2009, in the St. Elizabeth's Baptist Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., March 15, 2009, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, Alabama.
Mr. Starling was born in Geneva County, Alabama on March 16, 1984. He was a graduate of Geneva High School in the class of 2003. Mr. Starling was employed at the Dollar General in Samson. He will be fondly remembered as a great father and loving husband.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Helms Starling of Samson; two daughters, Shera and Shelly Starling; parents Tommy and Jean Starling of Samson; two brothers, Tommy Lavelle Starling of Geneva and Sgt. Joel (Maressa) Starling of Ft. Stewart, Ga.; three nieces, Stephaine Starling, Cheyenne Starling Adams, and Alyssa Smith of Samson; two nephews, Jose Starling and Chase Brant of Samson; mother-in-law Nina Trim of Samson; and many aunts and uncles.
