A celebration of life service for Kenneth Allen Kauffman, 62, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Mt. Pisgah Trinity United Methodist Church, 5615 Mount Pisgah Road, York, with his pastor, the Rev. Richard L. Bowers, officiating. Ken was the husband of Elaine M. (Dellinger) Kauffman, whom he married May 24,1969. Born, August 23, 1946, at the Columbia Hospital, he was the son of Kathryn L. "Kas" (Creager) Kauffman of East Prospect, and the late William Allen "Dee" Kauffman. Ken was raised in East Prospect. He was a 1964 graduate of Eastern High School and graduated in 1966 from Penn State University with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. Ken served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 and received the Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Trainee of his Company. He was the Founder and President of KRB Machinery Co., Wrightsville. In 2008, he received the Manufacturer of the Year Award from the Manufacturer Association of South Central Pennsylvania. The most important things in Ken's life were his love of God and his church, his family and friends, and his strong desire to help others. Ken was very passionate in his leadership at his church, Mt. Pisgah Trinity United Methodist Church. He served as the current Chair of the Trustees, the Chair of the Campaign for the First Building fund, and worked diligently with the Finance Committee. He also enjoyed reaching out to the homebound members of the church and occasionally helped teach Sunday School. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing baseball with the Susquehanna League and later the Old Timers League. From 1981-1988 he coached the East Prospect Baseball for Boys league. He enjoyed playing pool, won many tournaments, and placed third in the Pennsylvania State Championships in 1980. He was a current member of the Yankee Athletic Association. He had a love for golf and was a member of the Country Club of York. He and Elaine enjoyed ballroom dancing and were members of the U.S. Ballroom Dance Club. Ken also enjoyed the York Symphony. Throughout his life, Ken enjoyed traveling and had many opportunities to travel extensively for both business and pleasure. He enjoyed hunting with his son and his friends at the Bull Run Lodge and enjoyed skiing. Since his young adult years, he rarely missed a year of hitting the slopes. He loved animals and for many years had his own horse. Ken was a current member of the East Prospect Lions Club, the Prince Athletic Association, and was a volunteer for the Susquehanna Township Senior Center, Meals on Wheels Program. He was a member of KRB - CRSI (Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute) and its Membership and Member Services Committee, the KRB - NPCA (National Precast Concrete Association), the KRB - Manufacturers' Association of South Central Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, the PA Industrial Alliance, and served as Director of the CRSI Foundation Board of Directors. He was a former member of Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post 7045 of Hellam, the Abel-Poff-Leithiser American Legion Post 469 of Wrightsville, and served on the Penn State York Advisory Board. In addition to his loving wife, Elaine, and his mother, Kathryn, Ken is survived by a son, Nathan Kauffman and his wife, Kristen of Hellam; a daughter, Erika Kauffman of Kansas City, Mo.; a granddaughter, Lauren Kauffman, and a grandson, Bailey Kauffman, both of Hellam; three sisters, Diane Sweigart of York, Sharon Strouse of Dover, and Roxanne Hoff of East Prospect; a brother, Ray Kauffman of East Prospect; his mother-in-law, Estelle Dellinger of Mt. Pisgah; and many nieces and nephews and in-laws. Ken was the brother of the late Max Kauffman, formerly of Columbia.

Funeral services of Kenneth Allen Kauffman, 62, will be private as will his burial in Riverview Cemetery, East Prospect. His pastor, the Rev. Richard Bowers of Mt. Pisgah Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military services at the cemetery. Ken is the husband of Elaine M. (Dellinger) Kauffman. He is also survived by a son, Nathan Kauffman; a daughter, Erika Kauffman; two grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; and his mother, Kathryn L. "Kas" Kauffman.
