Mr. Enoch Madison (E.M.) Clayton, age 78, won his victory.
He died peacefully at home on Tuesday evening, March 10, 2009.
He was born November 20, l930 in Lawrence County. He was a well-liked carpenter, builder and in later years, was in the scrap metal business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Comer Perry & Bertha Viola Ramsey Clayton and a daughter, Judy Carol Clayton.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carol June Gobble Clayton, one son Jerry Wayne Clayton of Lawrenceburg, two daughters, Barbara Lynn Clayton & Linda Cheryl Foster (Morris) of Gladewater, TX; five sisters, Ellen Heckman & Urabelle Sedon, both of Canton, OH; Mildred Blough (Dale) of Wooster, OH; Katherine Clayton & Rebecca Lang (David) both of Lawrenceburg, two brothers, Ralph Clayton (Elizabeth) of Lawrenceburg; and Dillard Clayton (Lorene) of Chicago, IL, three grandchildren, Chad Foster, Tiffany Foster Christianson, Christopher Foster & six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service at Pettus-Turnbo Chapel, with Bob League officiating and interment in John Lay Cemetery at Ethridge.
